Mt. Grant General Hospital is accepting applications for the position of Infection Control Officer.

The Infection Control Officer is responsible for maintaining standards of care in the facility.  The Infection Control Officer develops, implements, and maintains the following programs for Mt. Grant General Hospital and Lefa L. Seran. This position is responsible for the effective direction, management and operation of the infection prevention and control, including education of hospital personnel, datamining patient chart and follow-up, and consultation with outside organizations such as CDC, and the county and state health departments.  The responsibilities encompass compliance with CMS, OSHA, and state and federal regulations, outbreak investigation, and overall direction of the infection prevention and control program. Reports to the CEO or Director of Nursing and Medical Director.

Minimum qualifications are any combination of training, education, and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills and ability such as:

• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Clinical Microbiology or other health related science required. Master’s in Nursing, Education, Epidemiology, Public Health, Clinical Microbiology or other health related science preferred AND
• Current Licensure in Nevada as Registered Nurse or Medical Technologist AND
• Maintain current certification in CPR AND
• Per NRS 449 and NRS 200, successful applicant(s) must pass required state and federal background checks AND
• Experience with long term care and MDS preferred.
• 2 years of leadership, training, or supervisory experience preferred AND
• Must be fluent in Point Click Care EMR, Research and reporting platforms, Office 365, and Microsoft Office
