Mt. Grant General Hospital and Intermountain Healthcare Bring Critical Care to Mineral County

Starting November 2020, Hawthorne can now treat adult patients suffering from life threatening conditions through a new partnership with the Intermountain Telehealth Critical Care program.

The Intermountain TeleHealth Adult Critical Care Program was first developed to help rural hospitals safely retain patients with appropriate care processes and resources to care for higher acuity patients. After five years, and hundreds of thousands of patient interactions, Intermountain’s robust clinical service is staffed 24 hours a day/365 days a year by a team of Physicians, Advanced Practice Clinicians and Nurses.

Their clinical care team collaborates with Mt. Grant’s care team to keep patients at our facility whenever possible by providing consultations, daily rounding and offering guidance to our providers and nurses using advanced audiovisual equipment in each patient room. This program allows our patients and family members to stay close to home while receiving the best quality of care right here in our community.

“Our partnership provides a critical safety net and peace of mind to patients needing a higher level of care in Hawthorne—without the stress and expense of transferring patient to Reno,” says the Mt. Grant General administrator.
