Mt. Grant General Hospital is accepting applications for the position of Full Time Risk/Quality Administrative Assistant
DEFINITION:
The Risk/Quality Improvement Administrative Assistant provides administrative, analytical, and operational support to the Risk Manager in maintaining and effective Quality Improvement (QI), Risk Management, Regulatory Compliance, and Performance Improvement program for the facility. The position assists with data collection, reporting, accreditation readiness, committee support, policy management, patient concerns including HIPAA, employee injuries and quality initiatives that promote safe, high-quality patient care and regulatory compliance. Works harmoniously as a team member with all staff members and reports directly to the Risk/Quality Manager. Carries out essential functions in alignment with the Hospital’s mission, vision, and values.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties listed below are examples of work typically performed by an employee in this position. Quality Improvement
- Assist with implementation and monitoring of the organization’s Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement (QAPI) program.
- Collect, organize, and analyze quality metrics for the facility.
- Reviews medical records daily and accurately enters data in reports and dashboards.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual quality reports and dashboards.
- Assist departments in tracking quality indicators and performance improvement projects.
- Monitor compliance with quality indicatives and regulatory requirements.
Risk Management
- Assist with incident, occurrence, and patient safety event reporting.
- Assist with all workplace violence reports, employee injuries, and follow-ups with the appropriate departments.
- Maintain confidential risk management records and databases.
- Track follow-up actions and corrective action plans.
- Support root cause analyses (RCA), failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA), and patient safety investigations.
- Track trends and prepare reports for leadership and committees.
Regulatory Compliance
- Assist in maintaining survey readiness for federal, state and accreditation requirements.
- Support compliance with Conditions of Participation (COPs) for Critical Access Hospitals (CAHs), Rural Health Clinics (RHCs), and Long-Term Care (LTC) regulations.
- Assist with regulatory audits, inspections, and document preparation.
- Maintain regulatory binders, evidence files, and compliance documentation.
Policy and Document Management
- Coordinate policy review and revision schedules.
- Maintain policy manuals and electronic document management systems.
- Ensure current policies are distributed and archived appropriately.
Committee Support
- Assist in preparing meeting agenda, minutes, and follow-up action items.
- Track committee recommendations and completion of assigned tasks.
Data Management
- Maintain quality accurate databases and reporting systems.
- Prepare statistical reports and graphical presentations.
- Monitor quality measure, patient satisfaction scores, readmissions, fall, medication errors, pressure injuries, and other performance indicators (PI).
- Ensure data integrity and confidentiality.
Education and Training
- Assist in coordination quality, patient safety and risk education (onboarding).
- Maintain records of training.
- Prepare educational materials for staff meetings and orientation.
Administrative Support
- Maintain confidential records and files.
- Coordinate correspondence for the Risk/Quality Department.
- Assist with special projects as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR EMPLOYMENT:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations affecting CAH, RHC and LTC facilities.
- Understanding of quality improvement methodologies.
- Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology and the ability to interpret medical records and clinical documentation, or successful completion of coursework in medical terminology.
- Strong organization and time management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to analyze data and prepare reports or other visual tracking items.
- Strong ability to maintain confidentiality and practice discretion.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to prioritize multiple assignments.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong customer service interpersonal skills.
- Computer proficiency (Microsoft Word, Excel) with the ability to create forms, reports, graphs and tables.
Experience and Training:
Any combination in training, education, and experience that would provide the knowledge and abilities. A typical way to gain the required knowledge and ability is:
Possess a High School Diploma or equivalent AND
2 years of relevant experience in an administrative assistant role or similar AND
1 year of experience in a medical related field AND
Experience in Quality Improvement, Compliance, Risk, Medical Records or Healthcare data preferred AND
Per NRS 449 and NRS 200, successful applicant(s) must pass required state and federal background checks AND
Experience with long term care preferred.
