Mt. Grant General Hospital has an opening for per diem CNA Class Candidates.  We are looking for interested candidates who would like the opportunity to take a 4 weeklong CNA Certification class. Candidates will be transported to Yerington, NV and be provided with training and skills to take the Nevada State Board of Nursing certification exam. Successful participants who obtain licensure will be able to apply to any full-time openings in the hospital. The program runs Monday – Thursday for 10 hours a day. Candidates must have availability to work for a minimum of 3 weeks prior to class starting under the supervision of the DON to be considered for the course. When class is not scheduled, candidates would be expected to work as Observation Aides in our Skilled Nursing Facility.  This position reports to the Director of Nursing. Class begins in April.

This is a per-dem position, without benefits.  Compensation is $15 per hour, and meals provided during out-of-town trips.

Minimum qualifications are as follows:

• Must possess a valid unencumbered Nevada driver's license (no motor vehicle violations including, but not limited to, Driving Under the Influence or other related charges) AND
• 16 years of age or older AND
• Be able to operate midsize automobile AND
• Must have the ability to study and pass exams AND
• Must be interested in or have experience in a patient care setting AND
• Must possess a basic understanding of medical terminology AND
• Per NRS 449 and NRS 200.5091, successful applicant(s) must pass required state and federal background checks.
