Internships were designed to give a gateway to students who would like to pursue a healthcare career. Flexible working schedule to accommodate school hours while still providing training and experience is the goal of these temporary positions. Students accessing job experience in a professional field with mentorship and growth opportunities is our main priority for our internship program.

Per Diem Status

$12.00/hr

Mt. Grant General Hospital is accepting applications for the positions of Intern Office Assistant. Under the supervision and direction of the Business Office Manager, HIM Manager, and HR Director the office assistant is responsible for filing, scanning, shredding, preparing copies, answering phones, and other office projects as needed.  Assist HR, Insurance Office, and Medical Records staff with day-to-day office functions as directed   Assists with problem solving and helping where needed. The applicant must be a self-starter and project focused. Ability to work with minimal supervision and follow HIPAA guidelines and regulations.

The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. This position can be physically demanding and often requires incumbent to stoop, kneel, crouch, lift, and stand or sit for long periods. In addition, some lifting and/or carrying of item’s weighing 50 pounds or more.  Responsible for lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling objects. Ability to perceive similarities and differences in color. Eye-hand-foot coordination. Ability to move fingers easily and skillfully. Ability to perceive pertinent details and verbal or tabular material.  Constant standing and sitting required when projects requires. Ability to comprehend written and oral communications. Ability to confidently use phone systems, office equipment, and computer software systems

Minimum qualifications are any combination of training, education, and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills and ability such as:

  • Must be 16 years of age or older
  • Per NRS 449 and NRS 200, successful applicant(s) must pass required state and federal background checks. 
  • Meet physical requirements listed above.
  • Must submit to TB Testing and annual Flu Vaccination provided by MGGH.
