Mt. Grant General Hospital is accepting applications for the positions of Intern Activities Assistant. Under the supervision and direction of the Director of Activities the Activities assistant is responsible for carrying out scheduled activities in accordance with our Activities calendar to provide and sustain a comprehensive activities program.  Assist Activities staff with day-to-day department functions as directed   Assists with planning, preparing materials, and carrying out day-to-day activities for the residents of the Lefa L. Seran Nursing Home. Examples of duties would be taking a head count for an art project, gathering supplies, setting up craft stations, and helping residents complete the activity. Ability to work with minimal supervision and follow HIPAA guidelines and regulations. Must follow documentation guidelines and practice time management when carrying out activities. Must be available weekends and Holidays.

The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. This position can be physically demanding and often requires incumbent to stoop, kneel, crouch, lift, and stand or sit for long periods. In addition, some lifting and/or carrying of item’s weighing 50 pounds or more.  Responsible for lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling objects. Ability to perceive similarities and differences in color. Eye-hand-foot coordination. Ability to move fingers easily and skillfully. Ability to perceive pertinent details and verbal or tabular material.  Constant standing and sitting required when projects requires. Ability to comprehend written and oral communications. Ability to confidently use phone systems, office equipment, and computer software systems. Ability to problem solve and have adaptability to change focus and redirect often.

Minimum qualifications are any combination of training, education, and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills and ability such as:

  • Must be 16 years of age or older
  • Per NRS 449 and NRS 200, successful applicant(s) must pass required state and federal background checks. 
  • Meet physical requirements listed above.
  • Must submit to TB Testing and annual Flu Vaccination provided by MGGH.
